The preliminary works begin
From 6 January, the asbestos removal and decontamination of the Brussels Conservatory of Music begins, in preparation for the restoration of this historic music school.

Preliminary works
These works will be carried out with all necessary safety measures by a specialist and approved contractor, Redeco and inspected by an Asbestos expert, Pégase, and an on-site inspector from Beliris.
Certain phases of these works require the buildings to be hermetically sealed and placed under pressure. A generator with back-up installed to meet the continuous energy needs of the site. Appropriate measures will be taken to dampen noise.

- Asbestos removal and remediation: January 2025 - spring 2025
- Start of restoration and renovation works: end of 2025

Practical information
The contractor will work between 7am and 5pm. From Wolstraat 3 to 11, parking spaces will be needed for the works. Pedestrians can still pass through. Given the size of the containers, waste can only be disposed of via Wolstraat.
