Dismantling the organ

A look back at the dismantling of the Cavaillé-Coll organ of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, which was dismantled for its restoration this summer.

While waiting for the team of experts to draw up a full inventory and describe the work necessary for the restoration, the instrument, which consists of more than 4,000 pipes, was carefully stored in a designated warehouse.

The restoration should start in 2024. The organ will not be able to return to the concert hall until the buildings are renovated, expected in 2028.
